Vikrant Shitole’s Solo Show In Mumbai

Chasing Charm – Bundi Chapter capturing the allure of Bundi.

Acclaimed watercolour artist Vikrant Shitole launched his solo exhibition, Chasing Charm – Bundi Chapter, at Mumbai’s iconic Jehangir Art Gallery in Kala Ghoda. Starting from October 22 till October 28, 2024, this exhibition captured the allure of Bundi in Rajasthan, blending its timeless beauty with a vibrant historical narrative through Shitole’s masterful art strokes.

The exhibition’s grand opening welcomed a distinguished audience, including Achyut Palav, a celebrated calligrapher and designer, Meena Naik, renowned actor, director and puppeteer, Utkarsh Veer, managing director of Rocksalt Interactive Games and Suparna Utkarsh, managing director of Pursuit Branding among other prominent artists and dignitaries. The event set an inspiring tone, with Shitole’s art sparking admiration for Bundi’s rich cultural heritage.

Known for his evocative portrayal of Bundi’s life and architecture, Vikrant Shitole’s latest series showcases an evolution in his artistry. Incorporating golden pigments to highlight Bundi’s sunlight and architectural details, Shitole transcends traditional watercolour forms by exploring larger canvases and experimenting with three-dimensional effects, creating a truly immersive experience.

The grand opening also saw the launch of a carefully crafted book, Chasing Charm – Bundi Chapter, by Vikrant Shitole, offering a collection of the finest pieces featured in the exhibition. Shitole, a former honorary chairman of the Art Society of India and global ambassador for ‘White Nights’ watercolours, is a celebrated figure in the international watercolour community. With work featured in prestigious publications and invitations to leading art events across Europe, Morocco, Dubai and India, Shitole’s influence continues to expand globally, drawing widespread acclaim for his dedication to capturing Bundi’s charm.
