Maa – A Heartbeat of Every Home

Delhi Exhibition Celebrates the Eternal Spirit of Motherhood Through Art

Art has always been one of the most powerful mediums to express emotions that words often fail to capture. Celebrating this emotional depth, the upcoming exhibition “Maa – A Heartbeat of Every Home” (Delhi Edition) will be held from 8 to 10 May 2026 at the AATA Gallery, Gandhi Smriti Kala Dirgha, Gandhi Darshan, Rajghat, New Delhi. Organized on the occasion of Mother’s Day, the exhibition pays tribute to motherhood and the unconditional love, sacrifice, and nurturing spirit that mothers symbolize.

Curated by Dr. Ankita Jain, founder of Likhandra Art Society, Bhopal, the exhibition brings together artists from across the country whose artworks explore the emotional, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of motherhood. Through paintings and visual narratives, the exhibition seeks to create a deeply personal and collective experience for visitors.

The three-day event will feature artworks by participating artists including Shambhu Nath Goswami, Deepak Bansal, Iqbal Krishna, Vandana Dubey, Ashish Bose, Pratibha Awasthi, Monita Dhingra, Archna Jha, Shrikhla Sahu, Sana Sikander, Vandana Singh, Manish Kumar, Smita Singh, Aishwarya Shukla, Jyotsana Mandapaka, Usha Gupta, Saba Bawa, and Smita Prasad among others. Each artist presents a unique interpretation of “Maa,” portraying emotions ranging from tenderness and protection to memory, strength, and sacrifice.

The exhibition will also witness the presence of several distinguished guests from the fields of art, culture, administration, and public life. Eminent personalities such as Vijay Goel, former Union Minister and Chairman of Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, celebrated para-athlete Deepa Malik, retired IAS officer R.B. Mourya, and noted artists Ajay Sameer and Shambhu Nath Goswami are expected to attend the event.

Adding to the cultural significance of the exhibition, the book “Reminder” by author Deepak Kumar Saha will be officially launched during the program. A special Origami Workshop conducted by Shwan Martin will also engage children and young visitors, making the event interactive and inclusive for all age groups.

Speaking about the vision behind the exhibition, curator Dr. Ankita Jain shared that the concept emerged from her own personal journey of loss and remembrance. “After losing my mother, I realized that her love still guides me every day. This exhibition is my humble tribute to her memory,” she said. According to her, the exhibition is not merely a display of artworks but a space where emotions transform into creative expression and where every canvas reflects the silent strength and warmth of a mother’s presence.

Established in 2023, Likhandra Art Society has rapidly emerged as a dynamic cultural platform promoting both contemporary and traditional Indian art. The organization actively works with Gond and Bhil tribal artists from Madhya Pradesh, helping preserve indigenous art traditions while creating opportunities for artists at national platforms. Over the past three years, the society has organized exhibitions, workshops, art camps, and heritage walks in cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Shimla, Guwahati, and Manali, along with programs at heritage sites such as Bhimbetka and Sanchi.

Dr. Ankita Jain, who holds a Ph.D. in Drawing and Painting from Barkatullah University, is recognized for her contribution to contemporary art and cultural curation. With more than 12 years of experience, she has participated in over 50 exhibitions and numerous workshops across India.

“Maa – A Heartbeat of Every Home” promises to be more than an art exhibition; it will be an emotional and cultural celebration of motherhood, memory, and human connection — reminding visitors that the essence of a mother lives forever in every home and every heart.
