Kochi Biennale Gets Another Patron

Entrepreneur – Philanthropist Adeeb Ahamed joins the league of Platinum Benefactors.

Adeeb Ahamed—founder of the Adeeb and Shafeena Foundation and managing director of LuLu Financial Holdings— is extending support to the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) and has joined as a Platinum Benefactor.

With a five-year grant supporting KBF’s activities, Ahamed joins a distinguished group of Platinum Benefactors that includes Kiran Nadar, Shabana Faizal, Mariam Ram, and Sangita Jindal. He also serves on the Kochi Biennale Foundation’s Board of Trustees. Dr Venu V, Chairperson of KBF, said Ahamed’s support will reinforce the Foundation’s long-term vision and sustain its artistic and educational initiatives.

Ahamed’s professional pursuits span financial services, hospitality, and social development across the GCC, India and the Asia-Pacific. A vocal advocate for inclusive growth and financial innovation, he regularly contributes to global economic discourse through international platforms such as the World Economic Forum.

Committed to social development, Ahamed supports initiatives focused on girl education and community healthcare—particularly in his home state of Kerala—through the Adeeb and Shafeena Foundation, which he co-founded with his wife, Shafeena Yusuff Ali.

His support of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB) is a testament to his enduring commitment to the cultural and social development of the state.

The Kochi Biennale Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to art and education.

Founded by a group of artists in 2010, it organises the KMB—India’s first and South Asia’s longest running Biennale—every two years. The sixth edition of the Biennale opens on 12 December 2025 and runs through 31 March 2026.
