Various cultural programmes conducted at Museum Ahar on the occasion of World Tourism Day
The Archaeology and Museum Department of Rajasthan organised various cultural programmes at the Government Museum Ahar in Udaipur to celebrate World Tourism Day. The art exhibition named, Heritage, was a major attraction where works based on the series of 15 heritage sights created by the artists of Udaipur were displayed in the Museum of Ahar. Since the World Tourism Day aims to promote tourism as a means of fostering social, cultural and economic development, the art exhibition proved beneficial and educative.
Artists Durshit Bhaskar, Mandeep Sharma, Dr Nirmal Yadav, Iti Kachhawa, Anurag Mehta, Dr Deepak Salvi, Deepika Mali, Gaurav Sharma, Rahul Mali, Naval Singh Chauhan, Amit Solanki, Mohit Suthar, Vandana Mehta, Naina Somani, Purshottam, Varsha Jhala, Dinesh Yadav participated in the art exhibition.
The chief guests and notable guests of honour were Dr Jeevan Singh Khadakwal, director of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Shikha Sinha, deputy director in Tourism Department, Sohanlal Chaudhary, superintendent in Archaeology and Museum Department, Udaipur circle, Himanshu Singh, museum head of Government Museum Chittorgarh, millet food expert Radha Goswami and the Chittorgarh Art Society director Mukesh Sharma.
Dr Jeevan Singh Khadakwal, Shikha Sinha, Sohanlal Chaudhary and Mukesh Sharma were some of the dignitaries present.
Under the direction of art workshop curator Deepika Mali and Gaurav Sharma, artwork was made in the heritage art workshop by local artists on the themes of Tourism of Udaipur. Also, under the direction of Deepak Salvi, the students of Meera Girls College made Rangoli on World Tourism Day.
The Tourism Department shared the importance of Tourism Day and the programme of Rajasthani folk dance and Kachchi Ghodi with the school children at the Museum Ahar. Art exhibition organized for the first time Rajasthani colours seen in the heritage art exhibition, the works created by the artists of Udaipur were appreciated by domestic and foreign tourists alike.
In the one-day workshop, artists created works on the theme of tourism. The guests were welcomed in a traditional manner by Rajkumari and Bhanupriya. A program of tree plantation was also organized in the premises of Government Museum Ahar. Mahendra Singh Rathod, Veerangana Soni, Suresh Paliwal, Ankit Yadav and art lovers were present in the program, at the end of the programme the museum administrator expressed his gratitude.
