Born and raised in the culturally rich region of Sawantwadi in Maharashtra, Akshay Sawant’s early exposure to art came from within his own home. His father, an art teacher, played a significant role in nurturing his creative instincts. Sawant was blessed to have a childhood surrounded by lush green and dense forest and an artistic influence, making his childhood scenes his central theme.
Sawant pursued his love for art training at the prestigious Sir J J School of Art in Mumbai, one of India’s most renowned institutions for fine arts. This academic foundation helped him refine his technical skills while also allowing him to explore and develop his own artistic language.
