Celebrates the Beauty of Still Life at Hathisingh Visual Art Center
Still life painting has long been a cherished part of art education, especially for those who first explored creativity in school classrooms. Many of us fondly remember drawing artistically arranged objects—clay pots, brass vessels, steel containers, copper artifacts, plastic items, foil textures, wooden objects, brooms, cloth pieces, fruits, and flowers. Guided by the art teacher, students were encouraged to observe carefully and sketch the arrangement from their own unique perspective. This foundational exercise, known as object painting, is essentially the essence of still life art—capturing everyday objects with accuracy, emotion, and artistic insight.
Carrying forward this timeless tradition, the Art Connect Group is set to present its ninth annual art exhibition, a celebration of creativity and skilled observation. Scheduled from November 18 to 23, 2025, the exhibition will take place at the Hathisingh Visual Art Center, bringing together vivid and remarkable works by 32 talented artists from Gujarat. Visitors can expect to witness paintings so realistic that they appear almost like photographic prints, showcasing the artists’ mastery of form, texture, light, and composition.
The event is organized by a dedicated team comprising Anil Shrimali, Kamlesh Gajjar, Prakash Verma, Dr. Hemant Pandya, and Prashant Patel. Their collective vision has shaped Art Connect Season 9 into a platform that nurtures artistic expression and encourages dialogue among art enthusiasts, students, and professionals.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 5 pm, with the esteemed presence of senior artists Shri Haribhai Soni, Shri Manishbhai Modi, Shri Parimalbhai Vaghela, and Shri Natubhai Makwana. Art lovers can visit the exhibition daily from 4 pm to 8 pm, up to Sunday, November 23, 2025.
Adding to the excitement, three outstanding artworks will be honored with special awards by Meenu Shukla, the renowned US-based artist known for her exceptional contributions to contemporary art.
