Serendipity Arts Festival Celebrates 10 Years with Global Showcases

South Asia’s largest multidisciplinary arts extravaganza, the Serendipity Arts Festival (SAF), is set to return for its milestone 10th edition this December, promising a spectacular celebration of artistic diversity and innovation. Scheduled from December 12 to 21, 2025, in Panjim, Goa, the festival will bring together over 40 curators, renowned performers, and art practitioners from across the globe for an immersive cultural experience.

Since its inception, SAF has become a pioneering platform for interdisciplinary collaborations, breaking traditional silos between artistic disciplines. The 10-day festival will once again transform Goa into a vibrant cultural hub, featuring a broad spectrum of programming that spans visual arts, theatre, music, dance, culinary arts, literature, and experimental practices. The event not only champions South Asia’s artistic heritage but also serves as a space for innovation and contemporary discourse.

Among the highlights this year are performances by musical maestros Bickram Ghosh and Ranjit Barot, alongside celebrated theatre artists like Anuradha Kapur and Lillete Dubey. These acclaimed names will take centre stage at various venues throughout Panjim, bringing powerful stories, rhythms, and expressions to life for a diverse audience of art lovers, critics, and creators.

What sets this year’s SAF apart is its expanded footprint beyond Goa. In honour of its 10-year journey, the festival is taking its vibrant programming to a global stage, with activations planned across 10 cities leading up to the grand finale in December. Indian metros such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Lucknow will each host SAF-curated experiences, offering regional audiences a taste of the festival’s dynamic spirit.

Notably, the celebrations will also extend to the UK and UAE, marking a new chapter in SAF’s international engagement. One of the key international highlights is the launch of a mini-edition of SAF in Birmingham, scheduled to take place from May 23 to 26, 2025. This inaugural event, held in partnership with Birmingham City University, will set the tone for the anniversary year.

The Birmingham edition will feature an energetic mix of live performances, exhibitions, immersive workshops, and thought-provoking conversations, aiming to foster meaningful cultural exchanges. By showcasing South Asian artistic practices in conversation with Birmingham’s multicultural fabric, the festival aspires to deepen its global connections while celebrating its roots.

These satellite events underscore SAF’s commitment to making art more accessible and engaging across geographies. By creating multi-city and cross-border encounters, the festival is not only expanding its audience but also encouraging artists to explore new contexts, collaborators, and forms of expression.

As SAF steps into its 10th year, it continues to evolve as a living, breathing organism—constantly reinventing itself while staying grounded in its core mission: to provide a platform for experimental, inclusive, and collaborative art-making. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a long-time attendee, this anniversary edition promises unforgettable moments of creativity, dialogue, and cultural discovery.

So, mark your calendars for this landmark celebration of the arts, starting with its Birmingham preview in May and culminating in the sun-soaked streets of Goa this December. The Serendipity Arts Festival 2025 is more than just an event—it’s a movement that continues to shape the future of South Asian arts, both at home and abroad.
