19, Heritage Walk at Alavi Bohra Community Cemetery, behind Zenith High School, Pratapnagar Date: 23rd November 2025, Time: 3:30-5.30pm. Background- The 45th Da’i e Mutlaq of Alavi Bohra Community awarded the task of reviving the 12th century Hijri well located in the Alavi Bohra Cemetery. The well was dug by 34th missionary of Alavi Bohra Community Mausoleum. The family who took up the task spent huge amount of money to revive the dilapidated sacred well which is now water source to each and every corner of the Cemetery. 25 Heritage Walks
Vadodara in the presence of absence
On 21st November 2025 | 8 AM to 10 AM by Vishvesh Pathak – Open to public
Let’s walk through the historical places in the walled city of Vadodara and immerse ourselves in the stories that they hold within. The heritage walk focuses on forms of place identity of demolished spaces and the loss of its collective imagination. The walks will explore diverse facets of the town, presenting a few selected places we are familiar with and providing an opportunity to engage in fascinating conversations on history, heritage, architecture, culture, and more. Join us for these captivating experiences and travel through the past, the present, and everything in between!
The walk reflects the various memories associated with the walled city of Vadodara. The walk also intends to invoke discussion and critical thinking about present conditions, co-learning, and interacting with the previous experience and knowledge of the visitors.
The walk starts at 8:00 am sharp and continues till 10:00 am.
Meeting Point: Mandvi Pavilion. The Walk will cover: Sureshwar Desai no Khancho, Ghantiyada, Ghadiali Pol, and areas around Mandvi Pavilion

A Dawn by the Waters

Experience Vadodara awakening its waters. A Dawn by the Waters is a heritage walk and cycling trail that meanders through the city’s historic lakes tracing stories of its landscapes, communities, and memories reflected in still waters.This journey unfolds at sunrise, where each talav from Mahadev Talav to Raja Rani, Sarasiyā, Siddhnath, and finally Sursagar becomes a living archive of Vadodara’s layered heritage. The walk invites participants to pause, listen, and sense the city breathe through its waterbodies, birdsongs, and morning light.
The experience focuses on understanding the role of these lakes in shaping the city’s ecological and cultural identity. It offers moments of reflection, storytelling, and shared discovery, blending the natural charm of early mornings with the rhythm of cycling.
Join us for this mindful ride through the heart of the city to see, hear, and feel Vadodara’s timeless relationship with its waters.
